The Jot Down for December 10, 2022

The Jot Down – December 10, 2022

Happy Saturday y’all! Welcome to another ‘Jot Down.’ I hope you all’s day has been restful, productive, and safe so far.

Before we get into what’s been up with me this week, let me catch you up to speed and piggyback off of last week’s ‘The Jot Down’ post.

Ketchup

  • Last week I was in the first 15% of The Villa and yesterday morning I finished it. I need to post my review, but I want the story to “sit with me” for a while before I compose it. TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read), I enjoyed the book. I will be picking up more by Rachel Hawkins.
  • My sister and I did not go to an escape room. We plan to go to one in the near future.
  • In addition to watching The Good Nurse (2022), me and hubby watched A Psycho’s Path (2019) and Dead End (2003). Both are on Freevee.

If you’re interested in keeping up with the movies I watch, feel free to follow me on Letterboxd. That is where I frequently infrequently log and review films I’ve watched. Should you choose to check out my Letterboxd profile, you may notice a pattern. Hubby and I enjoy watching horror movies on the weekends and Freevee’s been our go-to streaming platform as of lately.

Books

On my ‘currently reading’ shelf is another NetGalley ARC with a scheduled release date of January 3, 2023, Underneath the Sycamore Tree by B. Celeste. I’m only 3% into it, so it’s too early for me to say much. This early in, my only hope is that there will be other perspectives throughout the book. I’m not engaged in the one I’m currently reading from.

Blogging

Remember last week when I mentioned a Monthly Reading Wrap-Up post with stats? Welp. The post is drafted and still not published. I didn’t estimate it taking this long to compile. Who would’ve known that I would want to track so much information? Just know that the wrap-up post is in the works and soon to be published.

TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read)

  • The Villa is fresh on my mind and I haven’t quite figured out how to express my thoughts about it.
  • Underneath the Sycamore Tree is finding it’s footing for me.
  • I see complex COUNTIFS formulas in my sleep (lol), as my reading stats workbook is haunting me.

QOTD (Question Of The Day)

What’s a movie title that made you look twice?

Right now I’m sipping hot, ginger lemonade and watching Hansel & Gretel Get Baked on Freevee. My husband chose it (lol). So far it’s as entertaining as its name implies.
